Muddy Muddy Cyclocross

A few pictures from the most recent OBRA Junior CCX race series. The Heiser Farm course proved to be a rather muddy affair, with several slick, steep run-ups and a shoe-eating mud bog. A handful of Bend junior made the trip to Dayton last Saturday to compete for their respective high schools. Words really won't do the mud justice, so here are a few pictures. Junior Cross Schedule

The program is for riders aged 10 and up. Starting on September 15th we will meet every Wednesday after school at 2:30 for practice. There will also be opportunities to race at the Webcyclery Thrilla series races in town as well as travel to races all over the state as part of the OBRA Junior Cyclocross series. Tuition for each month will be $90, there will be additional fees to cover entry fees and expense for travel to out of town races.  The schedule is as follows:

Sunday 9/19 - OBRA Jr. Cross Race - Hood River

'Cross is one of the fastest growing types of bike racing, especially in the Pacific Northwest.  As we did last year Bend will again play host to the Cyclocross National Championships. Paulina Creek Adventure Day!

Saturday the 14th was our final adventure day of the summer.  We loaded up the vans and headed to Pauline to explore the Peter Skene Ogden trail and the swimming hole along Paulina Creek.   The day was hot and the trails were a little bit sandy - picture riding on the beach; but the creek was "refreshing".
